During the 1990s, Alice Soft and ELF emerged as the twin rulers of eroge. As Dengeki Hime famously put it, “Elf of the East and Alice Soft of the West” (美少女ゲーム界の東の雄がエルフだとすれば、西の雄はアリスソフト). While Alice Soft are/were best known for their Rance series, the developer’s catalogue was much more expansive with games such as Dalk, Ayumi Monogatari, and Toushin Toushi II experiencing their own levels of success. This page collects print advertisements, commentary, interviews, previews, and reviews of Alice Soft’s games with the aim of demonstrating the development of Alice Soft’s history.
